Applications for 2017 JRH Memorial Scholarship Are Available Now
Applications Are Due No Later Than Friday, March 31, 2017

Application due date: Friday, March 31, 2017

Last year, the James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund distributed $1.2 million in scholarship awards to the sons and daughters of Teamsters in the U.S. and Canada. This year, the fund is committed to distributing $1.4 million, an increase of $200,000. Through the support of local union affiliates and joint councils, the Teamsters International has kept this scholarship the strongest in the labor movement.

In addition, the union has initiated a Training and Vocational Programs Scholarship. Similar to the Academic Scholarship, applicants must be the son, daughter or financial dependent of a Teamster member (including BLET, BMWED and GCC members). The training and vocational programs must be related to work in a Teamster-represented industry, class or craft.

Deadline for receipt of scholarship applications is Friday, March 31, 2017, 5 p.m., EST. (No exceptions).

Any members with question should call a JRHMSF administrative manager at (202) 624-8735 or email scholarship@teamster.org.

Upon submission, members should provide enough time for their local union, system federation or BLET national division to receive and complete the membership verification form. If the above institutions are unable to verify membership due to time constraints, members should send applications straight to the Scholarship Office.
